What is diabetes?

Diabetes mellitus (DM), commonly referred to as diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period.


The symptoms of high blood Sugar include excessive thirst, frequent urination, weight loss, lack of energy. Most of this signs show at people with diabetes type 1 but they can be also present at people with type 2.


However the symptoms for low blood Sugar are blurry vision, rapid heartbeat, pale skin, hunger, sweating, loss of consciousness. They develop if you exercise a lot, skip meals, eat less than usual or you are taking too much medications.
